The Mommy

I like pictures of the kids for sure. DH says, "Who wants to see a picture of ME?!?!" So needless to say he's not on ours...

My boys got haircuts yesterday and today/tomorrow I'm going to give it my best shot to get a decent individual picture of each kid. I had enough trouble last year trying to get 3 kids to look at the camera and smile I figure there's no way in holy hell I can get 4 to cooperate! Thank God for the "collage" option!

Yes, I send Christmas cards. I think I've always ordered mine thru Shutterfly (although last year the amazing Kim designed one for us!) I usually just get the photo card- the one piece of photo paper or card stock- not folded. I could care less about the envelopes and just use the ones that come with the cards. And when I receive holiday cards the envelope immediately goes into the recycling. I actually like seeing a picture of the whole family on a card, because sometimes you never see these people and it's good to keep updated with what they look like. Last year during NaBloPoMo I blogged about this very topic: http://fatj.wordpress.com/2008/11/25/the-snail-mail-holiday-card/

I send Christmas cards and love the photo cards. I definitely think its best to have a picture including the parents and then maybe a second picture of just the kids...if people haven't seen your kids in a while, they might not recognize them right off.

As for envelopes, whatever. I hate wasting money on something that goes in the trash. People keep the card, not the envelope!

Do you send Christmas cards? yes
Where do you get your Christmas cards? used to be shutterfly...last 2 years it was kim and then this year jess made mine
Do you prefer a card-style or a regular? don't really care. i think the card-style are more classy, but most people just like to look at the pic.
Do you like pretty envelopes and if so, where do you get them? not really into these..although i like to get holiday stamps. and last year i did a cute holiday return address label from vistaprint
Do you prefer a picture with the mom and dad or just of the kids? either is fine...

Last year I went all out . . . I did the photo collage from Costco, a holiday letter, and handmade cards (with the original white envelop.) My plan for this year was to just do the Costco photo collage . . . and then I snapped what I think is an awesome picture of all 3 kids looking at the camera and smiling (I say 'I think' because I haven't actually downloaded it yet.) Now I have got it in my head that I want to do something all artsy-fartsy to showcase the picture (the logical part of me completely out-to-lunch and therefore unable to remind me that I have 3 kids under the age of 5 and that Christmas is next month.)

Hubby and I have never appeared in the holiday picture - I am always more interested in seeing people's kids, so I assume the same for everyone who gets our card.

We actually JUST received our photocards in the mail today! Nicole Barczak put together a 5x7 layout with our pics in it and then I printed them as a regular blank 5x7 photocard in Winkflash and ordered them that way. They came with envelopes and turned out really cute. :)

•Do you send Christmas cards?
Of course!

•Where do you get your Christmas cards?
I order them through my pro lab

•Do you prefer a card-style or a regular?
Huh? What is regular? I get 5x7 cards with photos on both sides.

•Do you like pretty envelopes and if so, where do you get them?
Envelopes are envelopes... and get tossed in 2.3 seconds. No. Waste of money.

•Do you prefer a picture with the mom and dad or just of the kids?
Doesn't matter...I just love pictures.
