I have been OUT OF CONTROL shopping since we moved. House stuff because I have whole new and different house to decorate along with me getting fatter and fatter and fatter (another post for another day) because I quit nursing (I don't even have a winter coat that fits) and the colder weather rendering my kids' wardrobes inappropriate. I have to talk myself down EVERY DAY from spending more money because money doesn't really exist to me right now because we already dug ourselves a hole when we moved, what's another $50? Another $50 turns into another $100 and $100 is a $100.

I had a brainstorm today. Maybe if I post my lusts here it will stop me from buying them. Could admitting what you want really have the same impact of actually buying what you want? I'm going to try it. I'm going to start a weekly retail therapy post because reading, shopping and taking pictures are pretty much my only hobbies right now. I used to like to cook but NOT ANYMORE. I loathe dinner-time. LOATHE. 

I want these pumps. I am obsessed with cute shoes right now. I think because I subconsciously think if I have the cutest shoes in the world on maybe no one will notice the extra twenty pounds I'm carrying around my mid-section.
 
The Pioneer Woman's New Cookbook. Mostly just because I love her. And really deep down I want to get even fatter. Because I like food. And especially butter. A lot.
 
The new Tea Collection catalog came yesterday. I have a soft spot for Tea clothes. I almost died when I saw this dress for Renee. My husband would die if he saw how much it costs. I will wait in hopes of it going on sale for like 1/4 price. Or maybe if I just look at it enough times they will give it to me for free. Sort of unrelated but not, I would pay my daughter a lot of money to wear boots like that but I know she wouldn't. Probably just because I asked her to. Maybe I'll try telling her that I think they are ugly.
 
I really want to buy this bedding for our master bedroom. The master bedroom that will probably get to the top of the house decorating list in the year 2011 because really no one ever sees the master bedroom. Part of the trouble is my husband will flip out when I inevitably insist that we totally need the shams and then we'll never make our bed and the $75 worth of shams that I just HAD to have will sit on the floor for all of eternity. He'll curse at me about the shams every time he steps over them (on the floor) and I'll go on believing that we TOTALLY needed them. The Sham Battle is one of those battles that neither of us will ever win.
 
I still want a pair of nice jeans but haven't managed to get to a store where I can find the perfect pair. I ordered like five pairs online and didn't like any of them enough to spend that kind of money on them so I sent them back. And they credited my card like a thousand dollars and my husband was like "Cool, thanks for returning that stuff" and I was like "Yes, I am a frugal and awesome wife."

This is my secret. I buy a LOT of stuff and return *most* of it so he thinks he's getting a bargain.

Oh, and husband: Please pretend you didn't read this because I would never do anything like that.

What are you talking yourself out of buying? I need inspiration. For things I'm not supposed to be buying.

LOVE this post! I also love shopping, but have nothing to shop for at the moment (other than like a big-kid bed...boring!) so I'll comment here and live vicariously:)

Okay, the shoes. I'd maybe wait on those, like until the holidays are approaching and maybe by then they'll be on sale, and either way if you buy them then it will feel like a little holiday treat for yourself. (I was just looking at the Boden catalog today. Some of their stuff I totally love; some of it screams granny's closet. Not that it matters- i won't be buying anything normal anytime soon).

The cookbook. Put it on your Christmas list!

Tea Collection. Overpriced if you ask me, BUT I don't have a daughter:) I do know that Pacifier (N.E. Mpls) and Goodnight Moon (Edina) do Tea Collection sales every now and then. I can keep my eye out for ya.

The bedding set. Could you buy it piecemeal? Or put part of it on a Christmas list as well? I say bedding is something to splurge on because you want to get a comfy night's sleep, and you'll most likely have it for a long time.

Oh, and DEFINITELY buy a pair of nice jeans. That should be the first item on your list:)

Ok, so the shoes I can totally relate with, I was ordering shoes from Aldo and Steve Madden all summer long. In fact it was so often that the people at the store now know me from the returns I have made.

If it were me, and I were to splurge on any of your items though, I would buy the stuff for your master bedroom, it will make you so happy! Then I would also put money aside to buy the dress for Renee for Christmas, but save for it because you might find one that you have to have so much more in two months:)

Maybe I am a really, really bad person to ask for shopping advice, and don't ask my husband either he's just as bad:) We make a great team in the spending department.

Um...you've created a monster...IN ME! Now I want new bedding and more cookbooks! I love shopping! It makes me so happy to have new things...and I am terrible when it comes to online shopping (since there are NO STORES here in Hawaii). I'm also terrible when buying for others, because if I buy it for you, then I have to have one too. So, Christmas is like a double wammy...

I wish I had words of wisdom, but alas, I have none. I am as guilty as the rest. :)

I have this uncontrollable urge to shop after having a baby. for myself, because I have no clothes that fit, for the new baby, and this time for the new baby's big brother so he doesn't feel left out, for my house, probably because I'm spending so much time here?? and it's the most awful time because I'm making no money. :( I'm not sure how Christmas is going to go this year... things could get ugly.

btw, did you know there's a store in fitger's that has seven, j brand, etc jeans?? I don't remember the name but it's maybe worth checking out so you can try stuff on??

I am currently lusting after a new bedroom set for the master bedroom. It has always been at the bottom of the list for 'upgrades' and is currently sporting a dresser that was my dresser growing up, two mismatched nightstands, and a bookcase that mathes none of it (as well as a glider and a pack-and-play - neither of which match the decor.) Two dressers and a nightstand. And a mirror for the wall. And some curtains. See? One thing turns into another and into another. And now I am lusting after that duvet cover in sea spray . . . it would patch the painting I HAD TO HAVE for over the bed perfectly.

I too have been shopping and returning like a mad woman. Seeing the 'Credit' on my statement makes me feel good . . . even though it is only half of what is listed in the 'Debit' column.

Oh, and I am fat too. Baby #4 is kicking my ass. As is the endless amount of chocolate that I can't stop eating.

Car accident and drunk drivers are the most pressing problems of our everyday life.
According to the World Health Organization, each year 1.2 million people die and nearly 50 million of people are injured or became disabled in car accidents. In most of the Eastern European countries that undergo rapid motorization, road infrastructure development, the progress of security services cannot withstand the increased load.
The experience of countries with developed motorization, such as Canada, France, Finland and the United States, proves that to reduce car accidents and avoid the enormous social and economic losses the next steps should be followed:
