I spent the last week freaking out that Cameron had The Swine Flu. Some dude I work with's kid had The Swine Flu and on the day I found out about that daycare called and my kid started a five day run of 103 temps. I know it's called H1N1. I don't know why they changed the name, I liked The Swine Flu better. I don't care if it wasn't "technically" correct. Anyways then the rash started yesterday and I kicked myself in the head for freaking out about The Swine Flu because Roseola never crossed my mind and Renee was the EXACT same age when she had the EXACT same thing happen to her.
My goal was this weekend for having Halloween costumes purchased and/or assembled and I'm totally blaming The Swine Flu for my failure to meet that goal. The only idea I could come up with over the weekend was The Bubble I want to float around each of us for the winter.
I'd sort of like for them to come as a pair because I'm a cheeseball and know that next year she'll want to be something obnoxious like, well, DORA. She still doesn't really GET Halloween. I only have two ideas so far.
- Dora and Boots
- Chewbacca and Yoda
What are your kids going as for Halloween? Do you have any ideas for me?
Boo at the Zoo is next weekend, I have to hurry.
You know I am all in for Chewbacca...I will laugh my head off!!! HAHAHA! Good luck with the costumes and I can't wait to see the pics!

I have the Yoda costume I could send you...my kid was Yoda because his Godfather called him that from the day he was born...VERY cute Yoda if you ask me!
Jillian and Parker will be Tinkerbell and Peter Pan!!

I love that you are a cheeseball! Maren is going as a kitty cat (courtesy of Old Navy - their costumes are always too cute and warm to pass up.) Cooper wants to be a race car drive, but I still want him to be something cute and fun (he was a kangaroo last year.)
As for your two little goblins . . . Raggedy Ann and Andy, Woody and Jessie (Toy Story), Piglet and Pooh, a flower and a bee, a farmer and a cow, a pea and a carrot (cause they go together like peas and carrots), Jack and Jill (as in 'went up a hill, to fetch a pail of water), a spider and Little Miss Muffett (can you tell we have been on a real nursery rhyme kick lately?!) I will keep thinking!

Dude, where's the rash again? Cause my kids just finished up a five day 103 fever as well but I don't see no stinkin' rash. I'm thinking we have Swine Flu. Or the plague. Whatever.
I'd love to help with costumes, but I have to come up with my own cutesy ideas. I'd like to dress the girls alike...but I also want the baby to wear the same tiger costume that all of the others have worn. Hmmm.

What did you decide for the H-ween costumes? Ryan is going either as a monkey (same costume as last year, slightly too tight, but he LOVED trying it on) or as a ghost, where I throw a sheet over his head and cut out two eye holes.
And I hear ya about living in a bubble. As a pregnant woman and AT HIGH RISK FOR SWINE FLU COMPLICATIONS, I feel like I need to wear a hazmat suit wherever I go.
