Maybe I needed a little boost. Maybe I needed to feel like something other than someone's mom. Maybe I felt like over the course of the last two and a half years, I have lost the definition of me. Or maybe I just got sick and tired of the ponytail every single minute of my life. I woke up this morning and decided that I was cutting it. And then I ordered $500 worth of new clothes on the internet. And damn it, I feel better. I feel like a giant weight has been lifted. I guess maybe it was the 20 pounds of hair she cut off.
Kim took this picture for our Christmas cards this year. ISH. Not the picture because it is awesome because she rocks at taking pictures. And my husband is handsome and my kids are damn cute. But my hair and everything else about me? ISH.
So I cut off my hair hoping that would help with the ISH factor. Here is what I look like today.
And speaking of Kim. I love her. She sent me these on my first day back to work. When the delivery person showed up at my desk I said to him, 'Oh, so my husband did feel bad this morning.' And then I opened the card and I smiled because I really should have known it wasn't him. When I told Ski about them he said, 'Damn, I totally should have thought of that. She's making me look bad.'
I *LOVE* your new cut! So cute on you. You look GREAT... so tiny already!!

You look fantastic! Even if you think you still need to fight the chocolate chip cookie demon, you don't. And, um, HOLY GUACAMOLE it's short! Looks good on you, though. I've always said you have to have a beautiful face to pull off a short haircut. You do, my dear!
When this current spawn is born and I am back to my fightin' weight, I have already warned my husband that I'm going to spend a FORTUNE on new clothes/accessories/whatever makes me look and feel good. Four kids? I damn well deserve it!! And so do you...

i love the hair. also, i have seen you in person and you look AMAZING after having had a baby three months ago. seriously, i thought you looked great when i came over right after cam was born. that just doesn't happen in my world. :)
my sister and our friend sent me flowers on my first day back after max and it made me smile a little bit on an otherwise crappy day. so, i can't really take full credit for the idea... if that makes michael feel better. :)
oh, and the valentine from renee was totally cute! it definitely surpasses max's glue and paper strips creation. :)

You look amazing! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new haircut. So hot! I'm also a tiny bit jealous of the new clothes that will be arriving at your house shortly, but you deserve it! What a fun Valentine's Day!

Yeah for doing something for YOU! And I agree with everyone eles - I LOVE the cut! It is totally cute and doesn't totally scream 'Mom'. And I am definitely going shopping after this little one comes and I have lost the weight . . . 4 pregnancies in 4 years has left me with a wardrobe that looks like the discard pile at Target.
And YEAH for good friends!

I'm so happy for you, great job on the shopping and I don't know why, but I always love you with shorter hairstyles. Looking good, I hope everything turns out when you receive the shipments.
