First, and foremost, thank-you to my own Mommy who spent hours and hours and hours working on the cake and cupcakes with me and never once even so much as insinuated that I had lost my dad gum mind. It should be noted, for the record, that my craziness when it comes to all forms of entertaining and making things pretty comes from her. THIS IS ALL HER FAULT. (I love you, Mom).
How cute is this cake? Have you ever seen a cuter cake in your entire life?
I didn't think I had ever seen anything cuter in my entire life. And then we finished the cupcakes. OHMYGOD. I love the butterflies and the pink and all things girlie.
And one more of the table. Because, well, I like that sort of thing. Those peonies in the perfect shade of pink just happened to be blooming in my very garden on the very perfect day.
Now, we're finally to the part where the birthday girl gets involved. Well, almost, how cute is the cake with a candle?
And here she is. She goes straight for the butterfly, puts it in her mouth and looks up at Dad like, "Really, this is cool with you?"
Pretty soon she realizes how much sugar her Rama put in the frosting, started shoveling it in and then thought she better check with The Camera AKA Her Mom.
Then she decided she wanted a cupcake too. It being her birthday and all, she got what she wanted.
About 10 minutes in, she realized there was a whole room of people watching her and decided to share. Just what you've always wanted, a bit of frosting straight from the grubby little mitts of a one-year-old. Ah hem, I mean a TWELVE-MONTH-OLD. Some for you...
And even you, Mommy. Put that camera down and take a bite. RIGHT NOW.
And finally, total destruction. One layer severed from the other and it was all over from there.
Wait, one more second, Dad, you look pretty clean. Let me help you out with that.
awesome! i love the butterflies! and the dress of course. everything looks perfect. i will have you hire you to design my next event. :)
hey can you email and tell me how you've been doing your b&w lately... like the ones of renee in the tub... i'm not liking any of my conversions right now. is it an action or your own? i'm liking it a lot.

Everything turned out beautifully! I don't know why you stress so much, everything you do is always perfect. Don't even think about arguing with that, because it's true. I hope you enjoyed your day, you can see it in Renee's eyes that she had a fabulous time!

The bday party was a smash and very beautiful...job well done 'mom'!
PS...I won't mention who the idiot was who opened the fridge, which dumped all of the cupcakes on the kitchen floor...but whoever that was...she is feels rotten. Renee was correct, the frosting was very delicious.
