Welcome to my random post of the week.
Happy Father's Day to my daddy and my father-in-law and to my brother-in-laws and even my husband. And really all the dads out there. Ski and I spent the weekend up north fishing and hanging out with my mom and dad. It was so nice to get away from the chores at home and to hang out with just my mom and dad. I feel like I haven't talked to them, you know REALLY talked to them, in a long time. We spent all day on Saturday on the pontoon boat fishing and swimming and eating and gossiping. Swimming was just about the best thing I've done in a LONG time. Oh to feel weightless if only for a few minutes.
My daddy on Father's day. I love you THIS much. Seriously.

Me enjoying the cool, weightlessness of Rainy Lake. I stood on my head in the water hoping to get the baby to flip but I'm pretty sure it didn't. I'm running out of old wives tales...
I heart Rainy Lake. I swear some days I can't even believe how beautiful it is.
So, where does Lucinda come in? No it's not the name of our unborn daughter (although I tried to get it on the list and Ski axed it). About a month ago, I got an email from Ticketmaster with Lucinda Williams as the subject. I got excited because she was one of about five people on our list of artists to see live before we die and I figured if the timing was right, Ski and I could drive to the cities and catch one last show before the baby comes as part of our Date Night ritual. Imagine my surprise when she was playing at the DECC here in Duluth. I almost died to be honest. I quickly ordered tickets and we went to the show last night after eating some delicious spicy pasta at Bellesio's. YUM. With the exception of the aging hippies dancing and acting like Lucinda is this huge "rocker", the show was awesome. She was endearing and real and honest. The baby danced through the whole show...s/he has heard a lot of Lucinda in utero and was probably wondering why mommy turned the volume up that loud...
